Shopping for Baby Clothes as a Reborn Doll Dad

A familiar aisle, a different reason for shopping

A grown man shopping for baby clothes can attract assumptions. In this feature, I am looking for outfits for my reborn dolls. Raven comes along as we visit Walmart and then Target, sharing the small discoveries and reactions that make an ordinary outing part of the hobby.

Clothing is one of the creative parts of collecting that I enjoy. Looking at colors, sizes and textures gives me ideas for dolls I already have, rather than making every shopping trip about finding another reborn.

Outfits, prices and a weighted-doll find

At Walmart, we look for newborn-size clothes and react to the prices and pieces we find. Then we visit Target to look for the weighted baby doll people had been talking about. The feature shows the find and what caught my attention about it.

A retail toy doll and an artist-made reborn are different kinds of purchases. The recording captures my reaction on that shopping trip; it is not a current stock check, price list or promise that the same item is still on a shelf. Back in the nursery

We return to the Strong Hands Reborn Dad nursery for a look at the haul and my favorite outfit. It is a chance to see the choices together and talk about the enjoyment of dressing a collection.

A new outfit can be a small way to reconnect with a familiar doll. Fit and the doll’s own care instructions still matter, especially around tight clothing, rooted hair and possible dye transfer. The later care feature goes further into those considerations.
